Every Circuit City store across the country, 567 in total, closed their doors for good on Sunday -- effectively putting 34,000 people out of work.

The company was forced to file for bankruptcy last year.

At one time, Circuit City was the country's second-largest retailer for consumer electronics.

Target stores are celebrating the grand opening of 27 new stores across the country -- six of which are in Texas, including a new Super Target at U.S. 75 and Stacy Road in Allen.

The Allen store now employs 250 people.
