Average Retail Gas Prices in Texas Fall to $2.50

Retail gasoline prices across Texas have dropped by a dime, settling this week at $2.50 per gallon.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported unleaded prices fell from the statewide average of $2.60 recorded Thanksgiving week.

Drivers nationwide are paying an average of $2.73. Forty-three states have average prices below $3.

The most expensive gasoline in Texas was found in Beaumont, Corpus Christi and Houston, where motorists are paying $2.52. Amarillo drivers are paying the least this week at $2.38 per gallon.

Sharply lower global oil prices are the primary reason for falling retail gas prices in recent weeks.
