American Airlines said traffic fell sharply in November as passengers cut back on air travel.

American said air traffic fell more than 14% over the same time last year.

76% of American's seats we filled during that time.

American Eagle, the airline's regional affiliate, reported a 22 percent drop in traffic.

American is planning further cuts in its schedule next year, with an expected reduction in capacity of 6 percent.

American may cut more flights if demand continues to decline.
