    Fewer passengers were flying American Airlines compared to this time last year.

    American Airlines said traffic fell sharply in November as passengers cut back on air travel.

    American said air traffic fell more than 14% over the same time last year.

    76% of American's seats we filled during that time.

    American Eagle, the airline's regional affiliate, reported a 22 percent drop in traffic.

    American is planning further cuts in its schedule next year, with an expected reduction in capacity of 6 percent.

    American may cut more flights if demand continues to decline.
