Amazon Adds 2,000 Jobs at DFW-Area Fulfillment Centers

Applications accepted at DFW Marriott from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday

Amazon is adding another 2,000 full-time jobs at three fulfillment centers in North Texas, the company says.

Since opening their first fulfillment center in Dallas-Fort Worth in 2013, Amazon has created more than 3,000 full-time jobs.

Amazon said Thursday the newly created full-time jobs are for positions at fulfillment centers in Haslet, Coppell, and its newest facility in southern Dallas.

"Associates at these facilities work alongside innovative technologies—including Amazon robotics—that associates use on a daily basis to fulfill customer orders," the company said in a statement.

Applicants can apply online at http://www.amazon.com/dfwjobs. According to the site, seasonal jobs are available in Coppell starting at $10.75 per hour; full time jobs are available in Haslet starting at $11.25 per hour and part time jobs are available in Irving starting at $11.75 per hour.

Full time jobs are also being offered at the Coppell fulfillment center.

Those interested in applying can do so at a job fair at the Marriott DFW Airport North at 4949 Regent Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday.

“Amazon keeps delivering for this area,” said Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings. “This year alone in Dallas-Fort Worth they have made several large hiring announcements, opened a new facility in Dallas, and are now announcing 2,000-plus new jobs. We are proud to have Amazon in this community and applaud their continued growth and contributions to the area’s economic development.”

In addition to the new fulfillment center in southern Dallas, Amazon has also begun construction on a new fulfillment center near San Antonio, in San Marcos.
