7 Hurt As SUV Slams Into Wylie CiCi's Pizza

The last of seven people injured when an SUV slammed into a pizza restaurant in North Texas has been released from a hospital.

Wylie police Sgt. Donna Valdepena told The Dallas Morning News that an 88-year-old woman apparently mistook the gas pedal for the brake and accelerated into a Cici's Pizza in Wylie, northeast of Dallas, at 4:55 p.m. Saturday.

Valdepena said no charges are pending against the driver.

Along with the driver, one adult and five children inside the restaurant were hurt in the incident Saturday. Valdepena said the last of the children were released Sunday from a hospital. The two adults were released earlier.

The pizza chain said in a statement that employees helped provide aid to the injured until emergency personnel arrived.
