Police said a 911 call came from the school on Spring Creek Parkway at about 11:30 a.m.

โ€œIt came from a cellphone at this location, indicting there was someone inside the school with a weapon and possibly a bomb,โ€ said Plano Officer David Tilley.

The school was placed on lockdown. Frantic parents arrived at the front door after receiving social media alerts from the school and messages from students.

โ€œI dropped everything I was doing," parent Terri Anderson said. I think I was probably one of the first parents here."

Anderson's son, 10th grader Blaizhaan Anderson, said his mom was crying when he spoke to her on the phone.

โ€œShe called my dad. My dad was telling me stay strong, pray to God, hopefully everything will turn out ok,โ€ he said.

Carol Benoit said her daughter, 10th grader Megan, texted as the lockdown began.

โ€œโ€™If anything happens to me, I want you to know, I love you.โ€™ I mean, it's a text. So, I'm just glad that it was a hoax,โ€ she said.

Police brought in bomb-sniffing dogs and searched the building twice, but found no weapons or bombs and the lockdown ended at about 1:30 p.m.

Tilley said the phone used to make the call was reported stolen earlier in the week.

On Sunday morning, Plano police detectives identified and arrested a juvenile in connection to the threat. Police said the person was charged with "False Alarm/Report Emergency Involving Public School."

The juvenile's identity has not yet been released.

โ€œThese kinds of things are never funny,โ€ Tilley said. โ€œThey create a lot of panic in the community.โ€

Even after the threat was resolved, some parents took students home as soon as the lockdown was lifted.

โ€œSheโ€™ll be at school on Monday, but for today I want her home with me,โ€ Benoit said.
