Snow Flurries Across North Texas Friday Afternoon

Accumulation could be more than an inch in northern counties

Another round of snow is on the way into the Metroplex Friday afternoon.

NBC 5 meteorologist Lindsay Riley said there is a 60 percent chance for precipitation at about 4 p.m., with the highest totals of snow accumulating in the northern counties of the Metroplex.

Flurries are expected in the Metroplex in time for the evening commute, with less than a half an inch expected in most of DFW; over an inch is possible in the northern parts of Denton and Collin counties north toward the Red River.

Southeast of the Metroplex, near Mexia and Palestine, freezing drizzle is possible in the afternoon.

By 8 p.m. Friday the precipitation is expected to have ended. Overnight Friday, temperatures are forecast to remain below freezing with partly cloudy skies. With highs in the low 50s on Saturday and Sunday, any snow accumulation is expected to melt quickly.
