An elementary school in the Northwest Independent School District was placed on exterior lockdown Thursday afternoon due to reports of an armed man in the area.
Sonny & Allegra Nance Elementary School, located at 701 Tierra Vista Way in Fort Worth, was locked down shortly after noon as a precaution, district officials said, and will remain under lockdown until dismissal at 2:45 p.m.
School officials are working with local law enforcement and school resource officers to keep everyone safe and will be on hand to assist in dismissal.
No further information is known with regard to the report of the armed man in the area.
