Several homes were evacuated in east Arlington due to a standoff with a wanted man Tuesday.

Police arrived at a home on the 1300 block of Darlene Lane at about 11:30 a.m. to serve a warrant, but the wanted person refused to come out.

Several homes near the intersection of Collins Street and Pioneer Parkway were evacuated as a precaution and a command post was set up so that police could communicate with the man inside the home.

Shortly after 1 p.m., the man was taken into custody without further incident and residents were allowed to return to their homes.

At this time, police have revealed no further information about the man's identity or the warrant.
