Finley Junior High Evacuated Over Bomb Threat

Students at Finley Junior High School in Waxahachie were evacuated to a nearby church following a bomb threat Thursday afternoon.

School officials said a written note was found about 2:40 p.m. in a campus restroom, so students were evacuated to the Church of Christ while police and fire responders searched the building.

Nothing suspicious was found in the search, so the all-clear was given about 3:30 p.m., and students were dismissed from the church.

All after-school and evening activities were canceled at Finley Junior High.

In a statement released Thursday afternoon, the WISD superintendent thanked the Waxahachie police and fire departments for their assistance.

Classes will resume as scheduled on Friday morning.
