Dallas firefighters were called to a fire in a residential neighborhood shortly before 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
The homes are located on the 4800 block of Manett Street, behind a strip shopping center on North Fitzhugh Avenue.
At 3:35 p.m., the fire was elevated to 3-alarms. Firefighters at the scene could be seen trying to stop the fire from spreading to the nearby shopping center and adjacent homes.
Jason Evans, with Dallas Fire-Rescue said at least four structures have been damaged by the fire. DFR said high winds and the close proximity of the structures aided in the spread of the fire.
From Chopper 5, at least one home suffered extensive damage in the fire.
At this time, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
