Bomb Threat Causes Texas A&M Evacuation

Hours after notifiying students, faculty, and staff of a bomb threat on campus, people at Texas A&M are now being allowed to come back to campus.

A "Code Maroon" message issued by the university said a bomb threat was received for campus in general around 11:34 a.m.

The message told all individuals to evacuate the campus in College Station by foot instead of using a vehicle.

Despite the message to leave on foot, the roads around the campus were flooded with cars and other vehicles trying to leave.

People on campus were told to proceed north to Church St. or south to Anderson St., where buses were routed to help assist people to get off campus.

Classes were canceled for Friday and activities were also canceled for the afternoon.

The university will continue to share the latest information on their emergency site: http://emergency.tamu.edu/
