A storm blew the roof off a barn near Anna on Friday evening, killing one person, police said.

Anna police Sgt. Jeff A. Caponera said the storm damaged a barn in the 4200 block of Farm-to-Market 2862 in unincorporated Collin County.

One woman was killed, the Collin County Sheriff's Office said. A man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

NBC 5 meteorologist Rick Mitchell said the damage was likely due to strong winds from a dying storm in Collin County. The storm moved through the area at about 5:30 p.m., the sheriff's office said.

No warnings in connection with the storm were issued by the National Weather Service.

NBC 5 has crews on the way, and we'll update this story with more information as soon as it's available. As this story is developing, elements may change.
