As the Senate Judiciary Committee gears up for Sonia Sotomayor’s Supreme Court nomination hearing, a number of key Senate players head to the Sunday talk shows.

The top Democrat and Republican on the committee, Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont and Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama, are on CBS’ “Face the Nation” to provide their take on Obama’s first Supreme Court pick.

Committee members Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) will do the same on Fox News Sunday, which also hosts House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.).

ABC’s “This Week” brings in Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.). NBC’s “Meet the Press” meanwhile has Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) along with Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who does not have a spot on the committee.

Elsewhere health care takes top billing. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius headlines CNN’s “State of the Union” following a week in which she led a summit planning a response to a possible future outbreak of swine flu. CNN also has Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.), Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.) and Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-Pa.).

C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” hosts Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) and Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), who will map out the GOP’s plan for the coming health care battle.

And Bloomberg’s Al Hunt will brings in Conrad, the chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, for “Political Capital.”
