Dallas Auto Show Opens Wednesday, Tacoma Makes Texas Debut

The Dallas Auto show opens to the public on Wednesday. It is being held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

One of the most talked about vehicles on display at the show is the brand new 2016 Toyota Tacoma. Toyota officials gave the media a sneak peek at what the vehicle looked like before the doors opened.

Only two prototypes have been made so far. They plan to start selling them in the fall.

This is the first time the new Tacoma has been seen in Texas. It made its first debut in Detroit.

The 2016 Toyota Tacoma will have a lot of new features that have never been offered before.

“Such as leather seats,” said Toyota product specialist Vicki O’Brien. “Giving you a moon roof. We have never done that before. Consumers have been asking because you could get it in the Tundra. Smart key, and push button start, you can't even get on the Tundra."

The new Tacoma also has a Texas connection. All of them will be assembled in the Toyota plant in San Antonio.

The Dallas Auto Show opens at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
