Yu Darvish's season is over.
Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels said Saturday the 28-year-old left-hander won't pitch again this year.
The three-time All-Star has not pitched since Aug. 9 because of elbow inflammation. He finishes 10-7 with a 3.06 ERA and 182 strikeouts in 22.
After leaving Japan to sign a $56 million, six-year contract with the Rangers, Darvish was 16-9 with a 3.90 ERA and 221 strikeouts in 2012, then led the major leagues with 277 strikeouts last year while going 13-9 with a 2.83 ERA.
