Cowboys Lead Saints at Half, 24-0

DeMarco Murray has 87 yards and a touchdown tonight in Arlington

It’d be hard to imagine the Dallas Cowboys starting any better against the visiting Saints on Sunday night in Arlington.

To wit, the Cowboys are up 24-0 at the half.

Dallas took the opening possession of the game and drove 80 yards in 12 plays, with Tony Romo hitting Terrance Williams on a six-yard pass to open the scoring, 7-0. Romo finished the half 17 of 22 passing for 202 yards and two touchdowns.

Following a rare miss from New Orleans’ kicker Shayne Graham in the second quarter, Dallas kicker Dan Bailey hit a 51-yard field goal to extend that lead to 10-0--but Dallas wasn’t done.

After an interception by Justin Durant, DeMarco Murray took a 15-yard run to paydirt on just the second play of Dallas’s ensuing drive to make it 17-0, Cowboys. Murray posted 87 yards in the first half.

Williams caught his second touchdown pass of the night, a 23-yarder, with just 19 seconds left.
