Record Breaking Flag Pull at TMS

A 2,800 square feet of flag soared into the record books at Texas Motor Speedway on Wednesday.

To help kick off the State Fair of Texas, fair sponsor Chevrolet broke the world record for largest flag pulled behind a truck.

The team hitched massive American and Texas flags to the back of their new 2017 Silverado HD trucks and took them on laps around the famed NASCAR track without ever touching the ground.

Several long-time Chevy owners got to follow the flags in their own trucks on the world record laps and representatives from the Guinness World Records were also on hand to confirm the record was broken.

Leaders with the truck manufacturer said they chose North Texas for the record attempt because of the state's status as largest truck market in the country and to help kick off another year of partnership with the State Fair of Texas which kicks off Friday.
