Popular Arlington Food Spot Enjoying Success, Has New Home

A popular Arlington restaurant has a new home after outgrowing its old one.

For the past six years, Donnie’s Hot Dog Shop and Philly Steak Supper Club has operated out of a 1,500 square foot space in South Arlington near the intersection of Matlock Road and Turner Warnell Road.

Thursday, owners Donald and Veronica Dotson welcomed customers to their new 4,000 square foot restaurant on the 900 block of E. Copeland Road near the intersection of Interstate 30 and Collins Street in North Arlington.

They say they needed the extra space for the live music events they like to host and to fit more customers who come in to enjoy their famous Philly Cheesesteaks.

“Our [cheesesteaks] come from God and with love,” said Veronica Dotson. “Without God we have nothing. But with God we have everything, So this food is everything because of God. So I thank God and I thank the public for all their support. Every time you come in you hear me say, 'I love you and God bless you,' and that comes from the heart."

Donnie’s is open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and from 8 a.m.– Midnight on Friday and Saturdays. On Sundays they open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
