Garth Brooks Takes the Stage Thursday Night in Dallas

Garth Brooks is taking over Dallas, as the first of his seven concerts kicked off Thursday night at the American Airlines Center.

Lines starting forming outside the doors at the AAC hours before concert time. Retired teacher Gail Hughes was hoping for a night just as exciting as the last time Garth Brooks came to Dallas 17 years ago.

"That was a long time ago," she said. "I can't remember specifics, but it was fun!"

Susie Walker and her mother were early in line Thursday as well. Walker said she grew up to Brooks' music, and her mother remembered seeing Garth Brooks in Houston.

"We listened to it growing up, my entire life," Walker said. "If he sings any of his songs off his Greatest Hits album, I'll know every single one of them."

Thursday's was the first of seven shows in five days. Some days, including Friday, will include an early evening and late night show.

Many fans tweeted after the concert Thursday night that it was one of the best concerts they've attended.

DART and TRE are offering "limited" extended service for the Garth Brooks concerts. Trains will run as normal for the early shows, but there will be extra trains after late shows.
