Second Highest Dollar Day Attendance Total: Dallas Zoo

Unofficial Dallas Zoo attendance on Thursday: 32,159

Guests taking advantage of Dollar Day at the Dallas Zoo had a hard time finding parking Thursday.

Dollar Day is one of the most popular days at the zoo and at 10:30 a.m. the zoo reported that it had run out of parking.

The zoo instructed visitors to take DART Red Line since visitors weren't going to be able to find parking until morning visitors left well after lunch.

The Dallas Zoo said the unofficial total attendance on Thursday was 32,159 guests, that's the second-highest day of attendance in Dallas Zoo history.

The Dollar Day record was set in 2008 when 34,929 guests went through the gates.

Last year's Dollar Day brought out 31,066.
