The foodie scene in Fort Worth gets a little more exciting during June and July when some of the area's best chefs host a series of a pop-up dinners.
"Twenty at the Tower" is a series of 20 pop-up dinners served on Sunday and Monday nights at the old Tower Restaurant at The Tower in Downtown Fort Worth. The dinners benefit the Fort Worth Food and Wine Festival (FWFWF) coming in March 2014.
The dinners are $75 per person, limited to 50 diners each night and guests won't know who the chef is until the arrive.
"We do completely different things that what we do at the restaurant," explained Blaine Staniford, executive chef at Grace. "And my guys in the kitchen like to see new things. It's fun for us to explore."
Staniford kicked off "Twenty at the Tower" last weekend serving about 40 guests each night. He shared the recipe for his White Gazpacho with Ham Wrapped Crustini exclusively to NBC 5.
However, he won't share what he knows about the pop-up dinners planned for Sunday, June 9 and Monday, June 10.
"Two different chefs will be here Sunday and Monday. I can't reveal who they are. You don't find out until you get there," he said.
Staniford likes the buzz created by "Twenty at the Tower" and believes it's just a hint of what's to come next spring with the first ever FWFWF, sponsored by in part by NBC5.
"I think it's gonna be good to showcase what Fort Worth has to offer. A lot of creative people in town, and it's gonna be cool for people to see it."
