New York Philharmonic Picks Dallas Symphony Orchestra's Jaap Van Zweden as Music Director

    Jaap van Zweden, music director of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra since 2008, has been named the next music director of the New York Philharmonic, starting in the 2018-19 season. Succeeding Alan Gilbert, who has held the position since 2009, he will conduct some concerts in 2017-18 with the title music director-designate.
