If the crowd Tuesday at the Studio Movie Grill in Arlington was any indication, "Steve Harvey" is a hit.

People packed a watch party for the new daytime talk show, which airs on NBC 5 on weekdays at 2 p.m.

"There's a lot of excitement here for our man Steve Harvey. He's a legend," said Sean Andre, a radio host on 105.7 FM, which broadcasts Harvey's radio show.

The crowd laughed and cheered throughout the stand-up comedian, author and radio host's show, which was broadcast on a big movie screen.

"They absolutely love everything about Steve Harvey -- from his bald head to his suit and jackets," said Rodney Wright, of 104 FM. "I think [he's so popular because of] all the advice that he gives. I think that he's a people person and he relates to a lot of people as far as relationships and careers."

Harvey has been making people laugh since his days in North Texas. He had comedy store and a comedy club in the area.

"He's done so much for the local communities here in the Metroplex," Andre said. "I think everyone is so happy for him, and it's a genuine type of happiness for Steve Harvey and all his success."
