Sarah Palin's book could benefit from the Oprah Winfrey "bump."

Oprah has agreed to sit down with the failed vice presidential candidate and former Alaska governor next month when Palin's book hits the shelves.

According to Harpo, the interview will be Palin's first about her new book, "Going Rogue: An American Life," and it will be the first time Palin and Winfrey will meet.

During the election, Oprah caused controversy when she and her staff reportedly deliberated over whether to let Palin on the show. Rumors circulated that Oprah refused to let her on, culminating in a Drudge Report item saying that Oprah's staff was sharply divided on the merits of booking Sarah Palin.

"Half of her staff really wants Sarah Palin on," an insider explained to Drudge. "Oprah's website is getting tons of requests to put her on, but Oprah and a couple of her top people are adamantly against it because of Obama."

Oprah later came out in denial of the claim.

"The item in today's Drudge Report is categorically untrue," Oprah wrote in a statement.

"There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates," Oprah said.

"I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."

Now that Palin has a potential blockbuster on her hands, Oprah is making good on that "love to have her" statement.

Palin's book was No. 4 on Amazon.com's bestseller list on Tuesday. It's slated to be released Tuesday, Nov. 17, the day after Palin's interview with Winfrey.
