Ryan O'Neal is heading to "90210."
The 68-year-old actor will play the father of teen hunk Teddy, played by former soap star Trevor Donovan, a rep at The CW confirmed to Access Hollywood.
Episodes featuring Ryan are expected to begin airing in April.
Teddy's dad has thus far been described on the show as a famous actor, but has not been seen.
When AccessHollywood.com's Laura Saltman asked in September how big of a star his on-screen dad was, Trevor said he was stratospheric.
"A Jack Nicholson [type]. Big, big, big time," he said.
And when asked who he wanted to play his dad, Trevor said he needed more time to come up with some names.
"Ooh, that's a tough question. I haven't really thought about it. I don't know," he said.
Ryan has played a family patriarch on several series across television including "Bones," "Desperate Housewives" and the ill-fated 2003 NBC Alicia Silverstone drama "Miss Match."
"90210" returns to The CW with new episodes on March 9.
