Erin Andrews' first outing as a contributor for "Good Morining America" will focus on an issue with which she is sadly familiar: stalking.
Andrews, a finalist on last year's "Dancing With the Stars," was stalked across the country by Michael David Barrett, an Illinois insurance executive. He shot nude videos of her through hotel peepholes in at least three different cities and posted them on the internet. Barrett received a two-and-a-half year sentence in March for interstate stalking.
Since her ordeal, Andrews has become an outspoken advocate for tougher stalking laws. She recently testified on Capitol Hill and is working with lawmakers to draft legislation that would introduce stricter punishment in cases where orders of protection were violated and to take into account the role that new technologies like cellphone cameras and text messaging can play in stalking cases.
Andrews will continue to contribute at ESPN, where she will anchor an hour of the expanded "College GameDay" and work the sidelines for both college football and basketball games in addition to her work for "GMA."
