David Hasselhoff Eliminated First on DWTS

"The Situation" and Bristol Palin make to round 2

The Hoff is off “Dancing with the Stars.”

David Hasselhoff was the first celebrity to get the boot on the ABC dance competition, a day after his cha-cha performance caused judge Len Goodman to hold his hands in his head and exclaim “it's never too early to panic.”

“It’s been a great ride and I feel bad for [dance pro partner] Kym Johnson because she works so hard to get me going,” the ex-“Baywatch” star said after learning the results. He also thanked his daughters, who had urged him to sign up for the show.

“Dancing” host Tom Bergeron said it was a big surprise to learn that one of season 11’s biggest-names would go out first.

At the end of the one-hour live results show, it came down to Hasselhoff and Disney star Kyle Massey, who had won over the judges with his cha-cha performance.

“Jersey Shore’s” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and comedienne Margaret Cho, who were both tied with Hasselhoff with the lowest combined judging scores after Monday’s dances, made it through to the next round.

“We definitely got a situation right now,” Sorrentino said during Tuesday’s show shortly before learning he’d been given a pass.

The reality star had only rehearsed for five days, compared to weeks of practice for other “Dancing” competitors.

Brandy, the R&B singer, had one of the highest scores on Monday. But she said during Tuesday’s show that felt like she was about to “have a heart attack” while awaiting news of her fate.

“Dirty Dancing” star Jennifer Grey, who outscored her competitors with her Viennese waltz to the tune of “These Arms of Mine,” was told she was safe early on.

Other stars who moved on to round two were: ex-“Hills” starlet Audrina Partridge, singer Michael Bolton, “Brady Bunch” star Florence Henderson, Bristol Palin and athletes Rick Fox and Kurt Warner.
