Just-departed "Saturday Night Live" alum Andy Samberg is heading across the pond for his next television show.
His first TV project post-"SNL" will be a six-part comedy series on BBC Three called "Cuckoo."
In the show, which will co-star Welsh comic Greg Davies, Samberg's character Cuckoo is a "slacker full of outlandish, New Age ideas" — a "squared-jawed, self-appointed spiritual ninja" who has unexpectedly married Davies' character's hippie daughter, the network said.
THe show's executive producer Ash Atalla told The Hollywood Reporter of his high hopes for the sit-com.
"I imagine [President Barack] Obama and [British Prime Minister David] Cameron will be watching closely," he remarked.
Meanwhile, Samberg is starring in "That's My Boy," out Friday, in which he plays sleazy ne'er-do-well Adam Sandler's successful son.
