Franklin starred on CBS' One Day at a Time from 1975 to 1984 as Ann Romano, a divorced mom of two teenage daughters, played by Mackenzie Phillips and Valerie Bertinelli.

Phillips responded to the sad news via Twitter and sent her onscreen mother well wishes, "Sending out love and sweet prayers to my 'mom'. The incomparable Bonnie Franklin."

The TV star also reunited with Bertinelli recently on the set of Hot in Cleveland, where Franklin played the mother of Bertinelli's character's boyfriend.
