The network also says it's in talks with first lady Michelle Obama to cohost GMA. Previously announced fill-ins include Oprah Winfrey, Stephen Colbert and the cast of "Modern Family."

Although Roberts, following a bone marrow transplant, isn't ready to return to the air quite yet, she did share some good news with fans on Thursday. In a blog post on GMA's website, the 51-year-old anchor said her "doctors and rock star nurses are very pleased with my progress and I could not be more thankful for the excellent care I am receiving."

If all goes well, she hopes to be discharged from the hospital next week. We wish her well!
