American Idol contestant kicked off show after Dad reveals his son made it to the top 24.

Semi-finalist Michael “Big Mike” Lynche has been cut from American Idol because his dad told The St. Petersburg Times that his son made it to the top 24.

According to American Idol’s confidentiality policy, those in the know must keep the weeks’s results a secret until they are broadcast.

Lynche has already been replaced, The St. Petersburg Times reports.

Lynche is not the first Idol contestant to get booted for technical violations. Last season, Joanna Pacitti was replaced by Felicia Barton after FOX deemed she was, “ineligible to continue in the competition.”
