Singer Melissa Etheridge is hitting the Great White Way by revisiting rock and roll’s early roots.

The Academy Award and Grammy-winning rocker, 49, is appearing in the Broadway musical "Million Dollar Quartet" for a special performance during the evening show’s finale June 23, The Associated Press reported. Etheridge will perform a song drawn from the music of one of the four artists featured in the show.

“Millions Dollar Quartet,” which has been nominated for three Tony Awards, including best musical, is the story about rock and roll’s founding fathers—Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewiswho met in a recording studio at Memphis’ Sun Records and participated in an impromptu historic jam session on Dec. 4, 1956. The musical features the popular songs associated with the legends, including “Great Balls of Fire,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Walk the Line” and “Blue Suede Shoes.”

Etheridge, whose latest album is “Fearless Love,” will be in New York again for a concert at the United Palace Theater July 14. Her “Fearless Love” summer tour begins June 26 in London with stops in the States through September.

In April, Etheridge’s rep told People magazine that the singer and her longtime partner Tammy Etheridge have separated after a nine-year relationship. The former couple have two young children together.
