A Goldilocks-like intruder broke into Celine Dion's Montreal home, gobbling up a pastry and pouring himself a bath before cops found him.

Police told the Associated Press they nabbed 36-year-old Daniel Bedard when an alarm went off in the singer's Laval mansion Monday afternoon.  He was arraigned Tuesday on charges of breaking and entering, auto theft and causing property damage.

Dion, her husband, Rene Angelil, and her children were not around when Bedard made himself very much at home. He was getting ready for a nice warm bath when police arrived with their canine unit, says police spokesman Franco Di Genova.

"He opened the water faucets, was pouring a nice warmish bath [and] he even managed to eat some pastry in the fridge," Di Genova told the AP.

The man also wrote on Post Its in the office and flicked his cigarettes on the floor, Laval police spokesperson Nathalie Laurin told the Montreal Gazette.

Police began searching the basement and confronted the suspect on the main floor. "Hey, guys, what are you doing here?" Bedard, a Laval resident, asked police as he came down the staircase. Police asked him the same question.

Di Genova said the intruder had jumped a fence to get onto Dion's property. He then used a garage door opener he found in an unlocked vehicle to get inside the Canadian songstress' gorgeous abode.

Laurin told the Montreal Gazette nothing was taken from Dion's mansion. "It's rare that you see this, there was no theft, nothing stolen, broken or messed up," she said.

Dion and her family were believed to be at their Florida residence at the time.
