“Twilight”, “House,” Eminem Dominate People's Choice Awards

The biggest winners at the 2011 People's Choice Awards all have one quality in common: brooding.

The sullen vampires of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the moody protagonist of House, M.D. and surly rapper Eminem each captured four trophies at the star-studded gala in Los Angeles, reports MTV.

Twilight dominated the movie category, nabbing Favorite Movie, Favorite Movie Actress for star Kristen Stewart and Favorite On Screen Team for Stewart and co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

Hugh Laurie and Lisa Edelstein, better known as Dr. Gregory House and Dr. Lisa Cuddy on the long running Fox medical show, captured Favorite TV Drama Actor and Actress, along with Favorite TV Drama. House also scored the Favorite TV Doctor award.

Eminem, who didn't make an appearance at the show, was named Favorite Hip-Hop Artist and also won Favorite Music Video for his collaboration with Rihanna for "Love the Way You Lie."

In the late-night talk show wars, Conan O'Brien prevailed, receiving the Favorite Talk Show Host prize. "When you're up for an award and you're up against Oprah, you don't want to win," he joked. "It makes Oprah very unhappy."

Johnny Depp, making a rare awards show appearance, won Favorite Movie Actor, much to the delight of the crowd, who gave him a standing ovation. Taylor Swift, who won Favorite Country Artist, presented to Depp, who thanked fans for the "stupefying honor."

And it wouldn't be an awards show unless Katy Perry or the Kardashian sisters made an appearance. The "Teenage Dream" singer collected Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Online Sensation while plugging her forthcoming summer tour, while the Kardashian's won Favorite Guilty Pleasure for their E! reality show, Keeping up with the Kardashians.
