“Night At The Museum 3” in the Works

The first two installments of "Night at the Museum," starring Ben Stiller, have brought in close to $1 billion worldwide at the box office, so it should come as no surprise that a third installment is in the works.

Funnyman Thomas Lennon, who co-wrote the first two films with Ben Garant, his former co-star in MTV's seminal '90s sketch comedy show "The State," and later Comedy Central's "Reno 911," suggested the third script is being written.

"How could you not? I think it's a really outstanding idea to do 'Night at the Museum 3,' in fact," he told AccessHollywood.com on the red carpet at the "Pee-Wee Herman Show" at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

"I wonder if someone's not even already working on a script for that," he added with a raised eyebrow. "I cannot confirm that for a fact, but I cannot deny it for a fact either… It might be in the works."

And he suggested he is thinking about where the next film could be set.

"Here's a little bit, [a] real quick spoiler alert – 'Night at the Museum 3' is set in the Liberace Museum," he said with a smile.
