SJP Teases “Sex and the City 3”

Could there be another "Sex and the City" movie?

The franchise's leading lady, Sarah Jessica Parker, said a storyline is in the works for a third film about the sex columnist and her three best gals from New York.

When asked if Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda had any chance of returning to the big screen or the small screen, Parker said it could -— and should.

"There is. I know what the story is," she told Parade magazine, in an issue hitting newsstands on Sunday. "It's a small story, but I think it should be told. The question is, what's the right time to tell it?"

SJP's rep had shot down tabloid reports that television execs were working to resurrect the HBO series on television, MSNBC.com reported. But the actress' quote makes it sound like some producers out there are up to something.

It's not clear if the original actresses — now into their 40s and 50s — would play the roles in this hypothetical plot. Rumors of a prequel about Carrie Bradshaw in her 20s had fans buzzing, but writer and executive producer Michael Patrick King said on Aug. 3, "I'm not working on any 'Sex and the City' prequel at all."
