Angelina Jolie Visits Syrian Refugees

The movie star hung out with Syrians escaping to Turkey

Angelina Jolie always has time for a good deed.

On Friday, the movie star received a warm welcome by fans when she stopped by the Syrian-Turkey border to talk and eat with some of the nearly 10,000 Syrian refugees escaping their government's brutal and deadly crackdown, The Associated Press reported.

"Goodness Angel of the World, Welcome," read one sign among the crowds waiting for her at the Hatay airport. Another read, "Angelina, kiss me for world peace."

A goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Jolie spent two-and-a-half hours sharing fruits and deserts with the Syrians.

Turkey's NTV television reported she asked how the Syrians were in Arabic, and then continued to speak to them through a translator. She reportedly took notes and was particularly interested in the women and children.

Whenever there's a major disaster in some part of the world, Jolie and long-time famous beau Brad Pitt always manage to be there or help out in some way. Earlier this month, the couple donated $500,000 to tornado relief efforts in Joplin, Missouri and in April, Jolie visited refugees escaping Libya in Tunisia.

The celebs are currently taking residence at an $11 million mansion in Malta with their six kids, Us magazine reports. Pitt is working on new movie "World War Z" in the Mediterranean nation.
