Kristen Stewart Talks Going Topless For “On The Road”

Kristen Stewart goes topless in her latest film, "On The Road" (a big screen adaptation of Jack Kerouac's famed book), but the actress says she wasn't nervous about the on-screen nudity, thanks to director Walter Salles.

"It didn't bother me," Kristen, 22, told MTV News at the Toronto International Film Festival of her exposed scenes in the movie. "You can do no wrong with [Salles]. He puts so much inside of you.

"In the four-week rehearsal process, it was okay to ask any question, to bring up any story, to really overanalyze everything and intellectualize everything," she added.

The actress, who will next been seen in the final "Twilight" installment, "Breaking Dawn – Part 2," said she and her "On The Road" co-stars (Garrett Hedlund, Kirsten Dunst and Sam Riley) were completely entrenched in their roles and so prepared that they were given the freedom to improvise lines for their characters – a feat she found more intimidating than going topless.

"Once we got to set, it was so about just breathing and letting it happen. He put so much trust in us," she said of her director. "So it was like, 'OK, so I have to take my clothes off?' It's so not a big [deal]."

"On The Road" is slated to hit theaters on December 21.
