Emmy Rossum to Return to ‘Shameless' After Equal Pay Dispute: Reports

Rest assured, "Shameless" fans. The show will go on for the Chicago-centric television hit after a pay dispute between star Emmy Rossum and the production company was resolved, according to multiple reports.

Rossum, who plays Fiona Gallagher, reportedly asked to be paid more than her co-star, William H. Macy, to make up for a years-long disparity in their salary, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The celebrity news site then reported Wednesday that the actress' contract negotiations with Warner Bros. Television, which were holding up production on the Showtime dramedy's eighth season, had ended.

Macy, who plays Rossum's on-screen drug and alcohol addicted father, told TMZ Monday that she "works as hard as I do, she deserves everything," and on Wednesday, Rossum tweeted that she would be returning to work on the show in May. [[407233375, C]]

Details of Rossum's contract were not made public, according to the Reporter, and both Warner Bros. Television and Showtime did not immediately a return request for comment.

The seventh season finale of "Shameless" airs Sunday on Showtime.
