Sandra Bullock Named People Magazine's Most Beautiful Woman for 2015

Actress Sandra Bullock has been named the world's most beautiful woman by People magazine.

Bullock, 50, told the magazine that her first reaction on hearing the honor was, "That's ridiculous." These days, her own vision of beauty is being a mother to her 5-year-old son, Louis.

"Real beauty is quiet. Especially in this town, it's just so hard not to say, 'Oh, I need to look like that,' " she said. "No, be a good person, be a good mom, do a good job with the lunch, let someone cut in front of you who looks like they're in a bigger hurry. The people I find most beautiful are the ones who aren't trying."

Bullock first gained international attention for her role in the 1994 smash action/thriller "Speed" alongside co-star, and then bigger box office draw, Keanu Reeves. "A Time to Kill" (1996), "28 Days" (2000), "Miss Congeniality" (2000),  "Infamous" (2006) and ("The Proposal" (2009) followed.

She was awarded the best actress Academy Award in 2010 for her role as Leigh Anne Tuohy, a caring mother whose family took in a homeless boy who became a first-round NFL draft pick, in "The Blind Side." Bullock was nominated once again in the category for her portrayal of an astronaut adrift in space in "Gravity" (2013).

In 2012 the Guiness Book of World Records listed Bullock as the highest paid actress in the world with a haul of $56 million.
