Grammys Misspelled Cory Monteith's Name During Tribute

Although we're moved that "Glee's" Cory Monteith was included in this year's Grammys "In Memorium" montage, we really wish that his name had been spelled correctly.

That's right, music lovers, when the late "Glee" star's photo flashed on the stage in Sunday night's live event, fans and audience members were shocked to see that the actor's last name was misspelled. The powers-that-be who were in charge of creating the graphics typed out "Montieth" instead of the correct spelling of the surname: "Monteith."

To be fair, we understand that switching up the "i" and the "e" is an honest mistake--one that many could make if they followed the classic spelling rhyme we learned in grade school ("i" before "e", except after "c"). However, it's upsetting for many "Glee" fans this embarrassing error was not realized before the broadcast.

In July an autopsy and toxicity screening showed that the 31-year-old "Glee" star died of an overdose, officially referred to as mixed drug toxicity, with heroin and alcohol being among the substances found in his body.

Monteith was found dead Saturday, July 13 in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in downtown Vancouver after missing his scheduled noon checkout time.
