Charlize Theron Recovering After Neck Surgery

Ouch!

Charlize Theron is recovering after undergoing surgery on her neck, E! News has learned.

The stunning 38-year-old decided to have a minor procedure on an injury that she suffered several years ago.

According to sources, the Oscar winner hurt a vertebra while on the set of the 2005 hit "Aeon Flux."

"She's fine," a source explains. "It was no big deal and a very minor prodecure."

The mother of one has opted to stay private about the ordeal but was wearing a small bandage around her neck at her most recent public appearance.

During the Variety 5th Annual Power of Women event in Beverly Hills on Oct. 4, Theron wore a white cocktail dress with a matching scarf in an effort to hide the Band-Aid.

The "Young Adult" actress was honored for her philanthropic work and made an emotional speech during the event.

"It's impossible for me to accept this award because there's someone here so much more powerful than me," Theron, a vocal advocate for HIV/AIDS research and awareness, said onstage. She gestured toward her mom, Gerda, sitting in the audience.

"I hope you're OK with me giving this award to my mom," she continued. "That bitch was building roads in Africa when no woman was doing that. I thank you, Mom, for teaching me by your actions how to be a strong woman, and for turning me into a p---y every time I talk to you."

Theron was honored alongside Amy Poehler that day. The two join fellow Lifetime Impact honorees Nicole Kidman, Elizabeth Banks, Jennifer Hudson, and Kerry Washington.
