Actor Channing Tatum has offered his condolences to the family of the Army Green Beret who was killed in Afghanistan earlier this month.
In a post to his Instgram page, Tatum says, "I'd like to offer my deepest condolences to the family of First Sergeant Peter Andrew McKenna, a brave soldier we had the honor of meeting in Afghanistan."
McKenna, 35, died in Kabul after he was attacked by enemy small arms fire.
Tatum and "Magic Mike XXL" co-star Adam Rodriguez, as well as actor Nick Zano, met McKenna during a USO tour in February, People reported.
On Saturday, U.S. Sen. Jack Reed called McKenna "an extraordinary young man with a big heart and a dedicated, distinguished soldier."
McKenna was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
