Will Smith May Star in New Tarantino Flick

A freed slave from the Old South joining forces with a German bounty hunter to find his wife--that may be Will Smith’s latest movie role.

The “Men in Black” actor is reportedly the frontrunner to star in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film, “Django Unchained,“ a spaghetti Western, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sources say that Smith was scheduled to meet with executives from Universal yesterday. Tarantino reportedly would like the actor to be in his movie, though no official deal with Smith has been made.

According to The Hollywood Reporter story, Smith would play the title character, Django, who is looking to reunite with his slave wife. A Germany bounty hunter trains Django and aids him in his search.

Christoph Waltz, who starred in "Inglorious Basterds" and won an Oscar for his role in that film, would play the bounty hunter, while Samuel L. Jackson could portray a house slave.
