A yellow taxi clipped "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson today as he ran from hysterical fans who mobbed him outside the Strand bookstore in the Village, according to a celebrity Web site.

The 23-year-old actor got bumped by a cab around noon near 12th Street and Broadway, said RadarOnline.com  quoting eyewitnesses.

He was not injured, the Web site said. The NYPD could not confirm the report.

"If it happened, maybe he didn't report it because nobody has anything on it," a department spokesperson said.

The London-born actor is in New York filming scenes from his new movie "Remember Me."

As it poured rain in Manhattan, Pattinson emerged from the Strand bookstore this morning with a team of five bodyguards who tried to hustle him to his trailer, RadarOnline reported.

The screaming fans rushed the road -- apparently forcing Pattinson to make a break for it, RadarOnline reported.  The actor was not hurt.
