Tidbits: “Plus 8” Spend Days Without Jon or Kate

Other Tidbits: Madonna on Michael and dish on the fly

When reality TV parents Jon and Kate Gosselin went their separate ways, they decided on a  custody arrangement. The few-days-on, few-days-off rotation allowed each of them equal access to their brood, as well as a fair share of solo time to schedule those interviews and after-parties they seem to enjoy.

But recent reports indicate the “other obligations” now overlap the all-important kid share, leaving the youngest Gosselins without a parent in sight.

According to Radar Online, 8-year-old twins Cara and Mady and 5-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel and Leah spent last weekend in the care of nannies while Kate Gosselin taped a talk show pilot in New York City, and Jon Gosselin schmoozed a magazine publisher in the Hamptons.

Given the constant drama swirling around the grownup Gosselins, as well as their recent choice to cart off the family dogs, maybe a little time away from Mom and Dad was just what the multiples needed. Besides, it’s not their first time under sitter-only supervision.

At least that’s the latest revelation from Marci Santoro, mother of Jon Gosselin’s ex-nanny gal-pal Stephanie Santoro. In an interview with Radar Online, Marci Santoro claimed Jon Gosselin left the children alone with her daughter and another babysitter while he swapped dad time for media time in New York City.

Madonna recalls failed Jackson collaboration
Years ago, Michael Jackson and Madonna almost joined forces in a musical collaboration but obvious problems prevented the project. According to Madonna, despite Jackson’s initial interest, he just couldn’t overcome his innocent image.

“We spent a chunk of time together, and became friends, but (the collaboration) never happened,” the 51-year-old pop star told The Sunday Times. “I wrote a bunch of words and presented them to him, and he didn’t want to go there. He didn’t want to be provocative. And I said, ‘Well, why come to me?’ I mean, that’s like asking Quentin Tarantino to not put any violence in his films.”

Dish on the fly
“House” star Hugh Laurie fears his on-screen limp has led to a real-life disability. “The show might last through to series seven, eight or nine but I don’t know if I will, because I’m starting to lose my knees,” Laurie admitted in a quote published in the Daily Mail. “It’s a lot of hip work. There are things going badly wrong.” But Laurie thinks he knows how to avoid a “House”-free future, as he added, “I need to do yoga.” … When Drew Barrymore thinks back to the days after she lost her beloved dog, she remembers the dark humor that brightened her mood. “My dog Vivian passed away last year,” the “Grey Gardens” actress recalled in a quote posted to Showbiz Spy. “I went to do this spreading of her ashes at her favorite place on the beach. I was reading this Eugene O’Neill eulogy and I took out the bag of ashes and the wind came and all the ashes went in my face. I had, like, a mouthful of Vivian. I just stood there and went, ‘This is genius, actually. This is totally perfect and humorous.’” And a little gross, too. … Before there’s a new Kardashian to keep up with, pregnant reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian plans to walk down the aisle with father-to-be Scott Disick. “Kourtney not only wants a wedding, she’s demanding it,” a source told the National Enquirer. “Scott is hemming and hawing, trying to buy himself more time. He’s suggesting they wait until after the baby arrives to discuss wedding plans, but Kourtney wants to lock Scott down.”
