Nosy Cops Arrested in SJP Birth Case

Two small town police chiefs were arrested for allegedly snooping for juicy tabloid fodder on Sarah Jessica Parker's surrogate mom.
Two small town Ohio police chiefs accused of breaking into Sarah Jessica Parker's surrogate mother's house in a hunt for tabloid dirt have been arrested.
Police chiefs Barry Carpenter and Chad Dojack had been under investigation for allegedly breaking into Michelle Ross' home in May in a search for items they could sell to tabloid reporters.
Appearing before a judge Friday morning, Carpenter was charged with two counts of burglary, one count of receiving stolen property, one count of theft in office, one count of unauthorized use of property or services and one count of tampering with evidence.
Dojack was charged with two counts of complicity to commit burglary and one count of complicity to receive stolen property.
In an interview with Access Hollywood back in May, Parker revealed she and her husband, actor Matthew Broderick, were expecting twins from a surrogate mother. The Sex and the City star, who admitted to having trouble conceiving since her last pregnancy and had been looking for ways to expand her family, said she was thrilled.
"I'm excited," Parker said. "I'm in disbelief. I'm really grateful. I feel really fortunate. My son is so excited, my husband is so excited."

Parker expressed concern for Ross, who's identity was exposed and was even begining to be chased by paparazzi.
'The most unsavory things have been done," said Parker. "She's had her phone hacked, her personal computer information hacked, she's had threats against her and true harrasment. She's had friends threatened and family threatened and she's had family of friends threatened."
Also arrested was Bruce Callarik, the Bridgeport mayor's son, and Dojack's father-in-law. His role in the tabloid caper has so far, not been revealed, reportsE Online.
Both men pleaded not guilty and are free on their own recognizance.
