Portia is taking Ellen's last name.

Portia has de-cided to become a DeGeneres.

After nearly two years of marriage to Ellen DeGeneres, actress Portia de Rossi filed the necessary paperwork Friday in Los Angeles to adopt her wife’s surname, TMZ reported.

"Petitioner is taking the last name of her spouse,” said de Rossi’s court petition, according to TMZ.

De Rossi and DeGeneres wed Aug. 16, 2008 in Beverly Hills, shortly before California voters banned gay marriage with Proposition 8.

The couple was among a host of Hollywood celebrities who cheered a federal judge’s decision in San Francisco last week to overturn the ban.

"This just in: Equality won!" DeGeneres tweeted, while de Rossi called the decision a “incredibly exciting and historical day and a big step towards equal rights for all.”

The Wednesday court decision, which Judge Vaughn R. Walker immediately stayed pending appeal by gay marriage opponents, is expected to reach the U.S. Supreme Court.
