LeAnn Rimes Divorcing Husband

RImes reportedly had affair with co-star Eddie Cibrian

LeAnn Rimes and husband Dean Sheremet have decided to call their marriage quits amid reports Rimes was involved in a tangled love affair with her former co-star Eddie Cibrian, the country star announced on her Web site Tuesday.

"After much thoughtful mutual consideration, Deane and I have agreed to move forward with dissolving our marriage," Rimes said, using her dancer husband's given name.

"This decision was amicable and we remain committed and caring friends with great admiration for each other," Rimes wrote as she thanked her fans for their support.

Rimes, 27, married Sheremet, 29, in 2002. The couple, who live in Nashville, separated in July when reports surfaced that Rimes was having an affair with her "Northern Lights" costar Eddie Cibrian.

Cibrian, 36, and Rimes, who played love interests in the film, were spotted together numerous times during filming and were most recently snapped by photographers on a golf outing.

Cibrian filed for divorce from wife Brandi Glanville last week after Glanville lashed out at Rimes for coming between her and Cibrian. The couple have two children together, Mason, 6, and Jake, 2.

Rimes' friend Jeff Berger told People magazine she and Sheremet were "doing their best to handle it as mature adults."

"Dean's her best friend and that's the crux of the issue; when you love and care about somebody who's your best friend - how not to cause them pain," Berger said.
